Morning Circle Time - This is my favorite time of the day. We take attendance, sing songs,
go over rules of the day, cover a special interest as an entire group, such as authors, artists,
solar system, etc.
Morning Work Cycle - Older children will work on a math and language lesson and
have a free choice of other areas of our Montessori classroom, I.e. practical life, sensorial,
geography, & science. Younger children will work on age-appropriate lessons, such as sounds or
numbers, with emphasis on practical life and sensorial areas.
Afternoon Circle Time - This is a relaxation time where we engage in songs and
simple inside games in preparation for our mandatory rest time. Rest time gives the children an
opportunity for downtime while listening to peaceful music before continuing with the rest of their
day. Parents who wish to have their child take a nap just need to let us know. We have a separate
room with sleep mats, blankets and pillows. Naps usually run from 1 to 1 ˝ hours.
Afternoon Work Cycle - Continuation and/or completion of the morning lessons.
Late Day Program - This is an after-school program that needs to be scheduled
separately. Group snack is offered and they enjoy playground time. We have inside games and activities
and some educational programs.
