Morning Circle Time - We take attendance, sing songs,
go over rules of the day and encourange class discussion.
Morning Work Cycle - Older children will work on a math and language lesson and
have a free choice of other areas of our Montessori classroom, I.E. practical life, sensorial,
geography, & science. Younger children will work on age-appropriate lessons, such as sounds or
numbers with emphasis on practical life and sensorial areas.
Special Interest Session - During the course of the year, we will study a special
interest. We will cover a variety of subjects such as transportation,
authors, artists. Each study will include Spanish and sign language.
Rest Time/Optional Nap - Rest time gives the children an opportunity for downtime while
listening to peaceful music before continuing with the rest of their day. Parents who wish to have their
child take a nap just need to let us know. We have a separate room with sleep mats, blankets and pillows.
Naps usually run from 1 to 1 1/2 hours.
Afternoon Work Cycle - Continuation and/or completion of the morning lessons.
